A Few Thoughts About Walt...
Walt Disney. Imagine the World without Walt. A world without magic, imagination, and pixie dust. Walt Disney was a pioneer, innovator, and creator. Walt and his brother Roy began a cartoon studio in Hollywood. He struggled for several years before stumbling across a mouse who would become the very embodiment of the Disney brand. Walt Disney chose his projects and designed his theme park with care, realizing these things bore his name and would be his legacy. He took great pride in everything he did. I wonder how Mr. Disney would feel today about the company he started. Since Walt Disney's death, the Disney Company has grown considerable. Some changes such as the addition of the Disney Cruise Line and additions to Disney Parks would most likely thrill Walt. Others such as the new programming on the Disney Channel would possibly horrify him. So many of the new program are the very opposite of what Walt set out to accomplish, family shows that you would not be embarrassed to take your grandmother to see. Walt Disney's most famous quote is "I only hope that we don't lose sight
of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse." It would be wonderful to have a television channel devoted to the classics that made the Disney Company great!
